The Production (1)

We are currently working on the exact budget would need to documentary and it is possible that we create a crowdfunding platform on Indiegogo to try to take part of the funding. But I will speak more about the crowdfunding next time.

For a year we have been dedicated to developing the script and get in touch with many countries. We also got in touch with David Peoples which Alex had the pleasure of speak on several occasions and gives us full support in this adventure. Soon we will call him again to tell we are back in action.

The production has four main parts:

- Ireland: want to visit this country to meet Setanta Jugger Club and if possible film the international tournament or trainings.
- Spain: We will follow the daily life of a spanish team in several national tournaments. This will be the centerpiece of the documentary.
- Germany: We will assist the international tournament in Berlin to film a lot of teams and follow the tournament from the start.
- USA: Visit to David Webb for interview about Blood Of Heroes and visit the Wasteland.

(OMG... 1:13 Look at that...)

The biggest problem is fit the dates and the cost of travels. We're on it.
Another big part of the budget we have it covered and is the equipment (cameras, lens, toys, etc). If you liked the spot #YOSOYJUGGER wait to see what we have prepared for you.

Next week will tell you more about how we are organizing the production and crowdfunding.

See you!

The screenplay

One of the biggest challenges that I faced when writing this documentary was to give a fresh touch and something different. It was clear that I did not want to be a typical or classic documentary. The project needed to have his own style, in the visual and narrative.

The good thing about writing a documentary is that the script is just a guide. When you decide to make a documentary you can control certain aspects of the story, then it is a story that takes the control and you just have to be there and shoot everything that happens.

The basics of the story are clear, we know where to go, talk and shoot. The best thing about this sport is that there are thousands of stories we can tell, but we must focus on a limited number of players. That we have prepared but its hard, there are a lot of information. Whatever I think I have a good sreenplay!

I want to talk about his origin, his present and how the players prepare and compete. I would even film matches as never before we had seen, conveying the emotion and the tension of that moments.

I wish you to sent me everything you think that it is interesting to create additional material for the documentary to this mail: yosoyjugger@gmail.com

Any help is welcome. Stories, photos, videos or all you want.

We would have many more things but would be doing my own story spoiler!

Next time I will speak of preproduction. Stay tuned for updates.

Hi juggers!

Hi all players jugger! My name is Alex Asensi and this is the daily production of the documentary "Jugger unknown sport"

For several months the project has been stopped due to lack of time on the part of our production, but now have returned to activate the documentary and every day we go a little further in the production.
Probably you will have some doubts. So let me explain some things to you.

What is #IAMJUGGER?

It is a documentary project directed and written by Alex Asensi  (@asensi_asensi), produced by Runtun Films Alicante with the help of the international community of the sport known as Jugger.

Like any documentary will chronicle the origins of alternative sport known as Jugger that mixes elements of fencing, rugby and hockey, born of the film "Blood of Heroes" and the activity in different countries like Spain, Germany and Ireland. We travel with a select group of players Jugger the World tournament in Berlin to try to win the maximum trophy that accredits this spectacular sport, unknown to most of the world.

What I will see in the documentary?

Following some Jugger players from around the world we will share the lives of these young athletes, their impressions and ways to play, capturing the passion they feel for the sport and show differences to other major sports.

We will see different explanations of the rules, styles and strategies used by different teams and as they prepare analyzing games or training together.

Who will handle roll it?

The production will be by Runtun Films Alicante (@runtunfilms) a production company based in Alicante and consists of several audiovisual professionals with experience in the world of film and short film.

When the film will be produced?

The process of preproduction, production and postproduction is very long. Our goal is to start filming in 2015 and end in September of 2016. During filming go selecting and assembling the material we have to accelerate the process.

You can help in many ways.

You can send me your doubts, your help to produce the movie, your team info, its logo, its history, photos and even videos of your travels to other countries or tournaments to runtunfilms@gmail.com.
